EXPLORING THE AREA ON TWO WHEELS

LOCAL CYCLE ROUTES

There are many picturesque cycle routs starting right from The Spinney.

Popular routes include cycling to the Folly, the local town of Lechlade, or the ancient landscape and sweeping views of White Horse Hill.

Here are a selection of routs, chosen by local bike enthusiasts, for relaxed and serious cyclists alike.  They all start from the nearby town of Faringdon.

COTSWOLDS CYCLING

With the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on your doorstep, you are within easy reach of cycling routes that take in all the landmarks, attractions and quintessentially English countryside that it has to offer.

Don't take our word for it, here is a list of the favourite routes compiled by those who know,

KIDS, LEARNERS & SKATEPARK

In spring 2019, a cycle training area was built on unused land in the Folly Sports Park. The park has been designed as a mini-village with landscaping with some of local landmarks. It is somewhere safe for adults and children to learn to cycle. The Farcycles charity also offer free training for children on their balance bikes and also on pedal bikes.

There is also a skatepark on the same site for those that have worked out how to stay upright on a bike and want to practice their tricks.

The skatepark starts on one side with a quarter pipe and a flat bank that open up onto the main body of the park. Following these is a lower level that has a flat bank, stair set, rail, wall ride and ledge leading down to it, and following this is a pyramid with rainbow hubba and another wallride with a ledge inset. For the return ramp at the end is a bowled edge with a speed bowl inset and a pump bump in front.

These words mean nothing to me but my Son was suitably impressed.
